2009 GAIG/USDF Region 1 Championships

ALR Dressage riders and students were once again successful at the highly competitive and HUGE 2009 regional championships for Region 1 in Lexington, Virginia. Patty Fannin and her 10 yr old Oldenburg gelding Fanfare were fourth in the PSG AA championships in a tough class of 19 horses with a great score of 65.788%. Tina West with the 6 yr old Hanoverian mare Dressed to Thrill were 6th and 10th in both the First level and Second level Championships in classes of up to FORTY horses and riders. Karen Raber put in good tests with her Dutch gelding Silvester in both the Fourth and the PSG championships, especially considering Silvester was experiencing back pain due to the VERY long trip to VA. Sumathira Sathanadan's 7 yr old Friesian gelding Sultan Evert D was close on the heels of the other horses in the Training level Open championships to finish 10th with a 67.6%...with the 3 horses just above scored 67.7%, 67.8% and 67.9%, trainer Ally Rogers was in the irons. He also put in a great test in the First level Open class with a strong score of 65%. A GREAT time was had by all and a very special thanks goes out to Patty for her INCREDIBLE work on our stall decorating theme of an Equine 'Wicked" theme which let us win the stall decorating contest!! You have to see it to believe it!

Ally Rogers Wins 2008 GAIG/USDF Region 9 Championship

Ally Rogers and her students showed very successfully at the USDF Region 9 Championships in Guthrie, Oklahoma on October 17-19, 2008. Ally and Routinier, an Oldenburg stallion, won the PSG Region 9 championships scoring 68% and placed as Reserve Champions with 67.75% in Intermediare I. With Desert Queen, Ally won the Open Training Level Championship with an outstanding score of 70%. Routinier and Desert Queen are owned by Heritage Manor Farm in Maryland. Congratulations are also in order for Patricia Fannin, Karen Raber, Morgan Bailey Carrier and Tina West who also showed very successfully in their classes. Way to go ALR Dressage team!

Training in Florida with Todd Flettrich

ALR Dressage had a terrific and productive time during their stay in Wellington, FL. A month of fabulous training with Todd Flettrich translated to a successful show at the end of the month at White Fence's Palm Beach Derby Show. Patty Fannin had a great debut in Prix St George, Allyson showed Power Play for the first time in PSG and Tina West kicked butt in both her first and second level tests. We spent the month soaking in the sun and fun but mostly the great instruction. We also enjoyed the incredible dining and I think, for a few of us, it was diet time when we returned. We are looking forward to continuing to expand our knowledge and hope for more chances to learn with Todd, who will be here teaching a clinic May 23-24!
