ALR Dressage is located at Massar Stables, a dressage facility with an emphasis on training horses to their maximum ability, promoting competition in the dressage arena and instruction of amateur and junior riders. We are proud to have riders and horses successfully moving up through the levels and currently competing in the FEI levels. ALR Dressage is located east of Memphis, TN in Arlington on 35 rolling acres with grassy and very roomy turnout paddocks. Our horses are worked in a full size outdoor sand arena, a large permanent round pen and a 20 x 40 meter covered arena with large mirrors. Riders can enjoy the lounge located in the main barn which includes a full kitchen and bathroom/showering facilities.
At ALR Dressage, we treat our clients' horses as if they were our own and together with the staff at Massar Stables we pride ourselves in taking excellent care of them while they are in training with us.
Boarding Rates at Massar Stables are as follows:
- $510 per month due on the first of each month
- Daily turnout (weather permitting)
- Individual fans for each stall in the summer
- Owners are responsible for all supplements, farrier care and veterinary care.
Transportation may be available to boarders at a charge of $.48/mile or $25 for local transport - scheduled on an individual basis and by appointment only. All horses must have an annual negative Coggins test (please leave a copy in the office with us upon arrival), recommended vaccines for the area and be maintained on a de-worming program at the owner's expense.

From I-40 East: Traveling east from Memphis, take the Arlington Exit (#25) and go north (left) toward Arlington. Go approx. 1 mile, turn right on Hayes. Follow this until it deadends into Chester. Turn right on Chester and go very short distance and turn left at Griffin. When this deadends, turn right on Forrest (this becomes Hickory Withe/196). Go approx. 3 miles until you go over an overpass of the interstate. As you reach the south side of the overpass, Orr Road is on the right side. Turn right on Orr Road, go approx. 1-1/2 mile. Massar Stables is on the left side (1387 Orr Road).If traveling with a long trailer, take exit #24 (Millington) instead for easier navigation. Exit at Arlington and turn right onto Hwy 70 East.. Follow the directions below starting at Hwy. 70 to find us.
From I-40 West: Traveling west from Nashville on I-40, take exit #35. Turn right (west) off the exit and follow until it deadends into Hwy 70. Turn left on Hwy 70 (south). Go approx. 3 miles (follow speed limits carefully). Turn left at Hwy 196 (by Beaver Creek Restaurant on corner). Follow until deadends - follow 196 South to left. As you go over interstate overpass, Orr Rd is on the right. Turn right and go 1-1/2 mile. Massar Stables is on the left side (1387 Orr Road).
From Highway 64: Traveling east from Memphis, go approx. 3 miles past the Fayette County sign. Turn left (north) on Hickory With/196N at the stop light. Go approx. 5 miles. As you go up toward the overpass of the interstate, Orr Road is on the left side. Turn left on Orr Rd, go approx. 1-1/2 mile.Massar Stables is on the left side (1387 Orr Road).
From Highway 70 (in Arlington): Traveling northeast on Highway 70 into Arlington, turn right (south) on Chester at the flashing light (sign on left side of road shows 305 N if you turn left). Follow the road over the railroad tracks and to the right of the fork (left fork is one-way coming toward you). At the first intersection turn left (Forrest - sign on left). Go approx. 3 miles until you go over the overpass of the interstate. On the south side of the overpass, turn right on Orr Road. Go approx. 1-1/2 mile. Massar Stables is on the left (1387 Orr Road).
